What Should You Do Next Year?

What should you do in 2025?  You could make resolutions?, or review the past year?, or just resign from doing anything?

What should you do next year?  Forget the past!  First, we should remember that The Bible tells us that God’s mercies are new every morning.  Paul tells us in Philippians 3:13, “forgetting those things which are behind“. Let the New Year be a time of new beginning in your life.  Time to stop thinking of the past and what “could have been” as well as all our old Junk.  Clean that all out of your mind.  Satan will try to get you to remember all your past mistakes, but don’t let him.  That is what the cross was for, right?  The Lord tells us in Hebrews 8:12: “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember it no more“.  If God says that when we repent, he won’t bring up our past sins anymore, then why should we?  Though your sins are like scarlet, they have been washed like snow.  Let them go.

What should you do next year?  Look forward!  Press forward and let go of strongholds, hindrances, and bad habits. Paul also tells in Philippians 3:13 and 14, “reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. It’s time to let go in Jesus’ name of things that hold you back! For “we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”

What should you do next year?  Prioritize!  James 4:8 tells us to “Get closer to God, and He will get closer to you”!  This is the year to concentrate on focusing your life on Jesus.  What are your priorities?  Decide now to make Jesus the priority of your life.  Start now!

We receive a lot of instructions on how to live from Romans 12:9-2.  Some of what We are told includes:

  • live a life that is surrendered to the enabling of the Holy Spirit.
  • Love sincerely, hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
  • Be devoted to one another serving the Lord.
  • Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
  • Share with God’s people who are in need.
  • Bless those who persecute you.
  • Do not repay anyone evil for evil.
  • live at peace with everyone.

We have a lot to do when we decide to focus our life on Jesus.  Let’s get started?

It is good to be your pastor!
