{"id":2977,"date":"2024-10-01T12:00:52","date_gmt":"2024-10-01T16:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/churchintheacres.org\/wpDir\/?p=2977"},"modified":"2025-03-20T10:48:46","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T14:48:46","slug":"put-the-good-stuff-in-first","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/churchintheacres.org\/wpDir\/put-the-good-stuff-in-first\/","title":{"rendered":"Put The Good Stuff In First\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">So we have made it to October, and now we are in the heat of the pumpkin spice coffee season!\u00a0 Are you one of the people that can\u2019t get enough of pumpkin spice coffee?\u00a0 I don\u2019t drink it too much because of the calories, but I admit I will buy a bottle of \u201cInternational Delight\u201d, or \u201cCoffee Mate\u201d pumpkin spice for an occasional fall weekend treat.\u00a0 I love to make a fire in the fireplace on a Saturday morning and sit in front of it with a good cup of coffee.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">My problem is that I always pour too much coffee in the cup, and I don\u2019t leave enough room for the pumpkin spice.\u00a0 When I put the flavoring in the cup, its too full and spills over the side\u2026especially when I stir the flavor in.\u00a0 What I have learned to do, is put the flavoring in the cup first.\u00a0 It then mixes when the coffee is poured in and the cup doesn\u2019t get over full.\u00a0\u00a0 Hmmmm\u2026.<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">put the flavor\u2026.the good stuff\u2026.in first!<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0In our lives we often get so busy with the world.\u00a0\u00a0 There is no down time in the day, and no sanctity in the week for a day of rest anymore.\u00a0 Our culture has turned into a 24\/7 on the go society.\u00a0 Work used to be a Monday to Friday nine to five thing\u2026but no more.\u00a0 Our lives are over-filled with lots of worldly activities.\u00a0 Why is it that there is no room for Jesus in our lives?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">When you think about it, time is a finite resource and it\u2019s being stolen from you\u2026constantly. Time theft is a subtle thing\u2026and I believe it is something Satan uses against us.\u00a0 Time theft comes in the form of polite and reasonable requests, of email CCs and FYIs, of commitments and obligations. If not caught early, succumbing to time stealing can become a dangerous habit for life.\u00a0 Sadly you probably won\u2019t realize it until you look back on your life and realize all the time wasted on stuff that was just NOT that important\u00a0 The older I get, the more I see that my life would have been easier if I had spent more time with Jesus.\u00a0 Jesus gives us fruits of the spirit, and how could you NOT want more love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control in your life.\u00a0 They are such good things!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Clearing your time of non-essentials is a hard thing.\u00a0\u00a0 We have to understand that ONLY JESUS will get you from where you are now to where you want to be.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t guard your time like it\u2019s your most prized possession, it will be taken from you.\u00a0 So what do we do?\u00a0 With pumpkin spice flavor, you get enough in the cup by putting the flavor in first.\u00a0 With Jesus, we need to do the same.\u00a0 Put HIM in our lives first.\u00a0 Put the good stuff in first!\u00a0 Then we will be assured there is room for Him.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201c<em><strong>Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.\u00a0 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.\u00a0 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 Col:3:2-4<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559685&quot;:720}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cSeek first the Kingdom of God\u201d !\u00a0 It is good to be your pastor!<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In The Lord\u2019s service till the last fish is caught, &lt;&gt;&lt;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Pastor Chris<\/span><span
