When I think of March, I think of the weather, and storms.\u00a0 It seems that the old saying is almost always true, \u201cMarch comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, or in like a lamb and out like a lion!\u201d\u00a0 When I look back, my memory reminds me of many large snow storms in the months of March gone by.\u00a0 You think you are headed towards the warmth and re-creation of Spring, and Winter reminds you that He is not done yet!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t that the way our lives are?\u00a0 We just recover from the cold winter, and we think we see spring coming, but another storm hits.\u00a0 We pay a big bill, and then another one comes in the mail, or we\u2019re driving along after paying out all that money on a new set of tires, and someone runs a red light and smashes into us.\u00a0 We\u2019ve gotten over the flu and then the next thing you know, we\u2019re dealing with an infection.\u00a0 Sometimes its so hard.\u00a0 The problems in life keep coming at us.\u00a0 But Jesus <\/span>DID<\/span><\/i> tell us that we will have problems in life, right?<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before writing this article, an old Hymn from 1880 came to my mind and I couldn\u2019t get it out of my head:<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lord\u2019s our Rock, in Him we hide,<\/span>
\nA Shelter in the time of storm; <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
\nSecure whatever ill betide, <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
\nA Shelter in the time of storm. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Refrain:<\/span><\/i>
\nOh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,<\/span>
\nA weary land, a weary land;<\/span>
\nOh, Jesus is a Rock in a weary land,<\/span>
\nA Shelter in the time of storm.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>For me, it helps to remind myself that Jesus walks alongside me through the storms.\u00a0 He is always there, never changing.\u00a0 When I am weary, Jesus is my rock.\u00a0 I am comforted by David\u2019s words in Psalm 91 that tell me: <\/span>\u201cWhoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span> 2\u202f<\/span>I will say of the <\/span>Lord<\/span>, \u201cHe is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>3\u202f<\/span>Surely he will save you from the fowler\u2019s snare and from the deadly pestilence.\u00a0 <\/span>4\u202f<\/span>He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.\u00a0 <\/span>5\u202f<\/span>You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, <\/span>6\u202f<\/span>nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.\u00a0 <\/span>7\u202f<\/span>A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am comforted that God is in control, so I don\u2019t have to be.\u00a0 At the end of the day, nothing really matters except Jesus.\u00a0 When the storms come, and believe me they will\u2026take shelter in the Lord.\u00a0 God loves you and that is what really matters.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is good to be your pastor!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the Lord\u2019s service till the last fish is caught, <><<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
